First review
Four types of information make the first discussion more precise.
Provide the location and site context, photographs from both ends, approximate levels and the intended journey. Add any survey, plan or section already available. These documents do not need to be reformatted before the first contact.
State the users, objects carried, frequency and any important architectural constraints. The objective is to understand the service before selecting equipment characteristics. You can then send the first project information without waiting for a complete technical file.

Progressive certainty
Concept, preliminary design and fabrication do not answer the same questions.
A concept compares routes and shows major interfaces. Preliminary design develops station geometry, supporting works and responsibilities. Fabrication information can only be finalised after the project team has confirmed the dimensions and conditions on which it relies.
